Laboratory for Computational affective Neuroscience and Development (CNDL) at Graduate School of Medical Science and Engineering (GSMSE) of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Engineering (KAIST)

We, human being, observe what happens, think what is, feel what touched, and predict what will be experienced. We update our belief based on how felt as well as what observed (e.g., What a wonderful world!!!).

We focus on the development of computational model being able to explain ‘why people, even patients, perceive and feel differently’ and ‘how emotional experiences contribute to establish the individual difference’ with both human behavior and neuroimaging data (e.g., fMRI/MRS, DTI, EEG/MEG, neurophysiological data).

Diffusion Tensor Imaging(DTI)

DTI studies showing an abnormal anatomical connectivity in adult group who had watched domestic violence or had experienced verbal abuse by their parents during their childhood.


Functional MRI (fMRI)

Functional MRI studies showing brain regions related with various conditions such as erotic feeling, plasma prolactin level, age-related changes in sexual response


Multimodal Neuroimaging

A multimodal neuroimaging showing abnormal anatomo-functional connectivity in schizophrenic patients.
